Community Transit honors Bothell employers, commuters at Visionary Awards

Community Transit introduced its Visionary Awards 13 years ago to recognize employers in Snohomish County and Bothell who support Washington’s Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) goals, employee transportation coordinators who promote CTR and employees and commuters who reduce vehicle trips to work by using alternative transportation.

Local winners are:

• SMART Commuter of the Year, CTR — Carrie Merkley, ADP, Bothell

As a regular bus rider, carpooler, ferry rider and walker, she makes her payroll checks go farther.

• ADP COS, Bothell, reduced drive alone vehicles by 11 percent

• AT&T Buildings 1 and 2, Bothell, reduced drive alone vehicles by 15 percent

• SNC Lavalin Constructors, Bothell, reduced vehicle miles traveled by 18 percent

• SonoSite, Bothell, reduced drive alone vehicles by 10 percent

• Tetra Tech, Bothell, reduced drive alone vehicles and vehicle miles traveled by 24 percent each.
