Evergreen Karate and Jiu-Jitsu has its grand re-opening at its new location on Main Street in Bothell on Sept. 11, at 5 p.m.

“We are so excited for the ribbon-cutting ceremony,” said Bryan Alvarez, who runs the Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program. “George Ahearn, who owns the school and runs the karate program, has been dreaming about this for I think thirteen years.”

The school, which was founded in 2002 and had previously been located on 85th Street two blocks away, teaches traditional Okinawan Karate and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to children and adults.

“I love the school because of the family atmosphere,” said Alvarez. “We have four-year-olds who train in the ‘Little Dragons’ program in the afternoon, and then in the evening their parents show up for adult karate or jiu-jitsu. It’s a great place for the entire family to train and stay in shape together.”
