May 10, 2011 · 1:05 PM
The University of Washington, Bothell will hold its 6th Annual 5K Run-Walk May 14. The event, hosted by the UW-Bothell Alumni Council, has generated more than $40,000 for student scholarships.
Participating runners and walkers will follow a scenic course that winds throughout the entire campus, including the central promenade, the historic Truly House and Chase House, and the 58-acre wetlands, which is one of the largest wetlands restoration projects on the west coast.
The event also includes a post-race continental breakfast, and a host of family activities. In addition, Cascadia Community College, which shares the campus with UW-Bothell, is sponsoring a kid’s dash for runners under the age of 10.
Online registration for the event is available through May 12. Walk-up registration will also be available. The race begins at 9 a.m. with check-in beginning at 8 a.m.
The campus is located at the intersection of Interstate 405 and State Route 522. Parking for the event is free. For more information on the 5K, visit: www.uwb.edu/5krun.
