Timbercrest Junior High students serve in Olympia

March 26, 2012 · 12:04 PM

Timbercrest Junior High eighth-graders Katie Kelly and Anna Estabrook served as pages in the Washington State House of Representatives Feb. 27- March 2. During the week, they attended page school daily to understand the operations and actions of the Legislature, took part in a mock bill exercise and delivered documents to elected offices and staff on the floor of the House and throughout the Capitol campus.

Each week during the legislative session, 14- to 16-year-old students serve in the legislative page program. They must have a legislative sponsor and permission from their schools and parents. Kelly and Estabrook were sponsored by 15th District State Representative Bruce Chandler.
