Bothell American Legion Post 127 honored Dave Cook as volunteer of the year and Wayne Hamodey as legionnaire of the year at its June meeting.

The Bothell American Legion represents veterans from Mill Creek to Kirkland and Woodinville to Kenmore and has been active since 1920.

The post — located at 21920 State Route 9 S.E., Woodinville — will host the Seafair Pirates following the Bothell 4th of July parade. All are welcome to stop by and meet the pirates, visit the post's new hall and enjoy a barbecue. The post has also started a Legion Riders program for legion members and sons of the legion.
