UW Bothell hosts second annual Lend-a-Paw Day
October 4, 2012 · 12:37 PM
Alumni, students, faculty and staff at the University of Washington Bothell will help renovate American Legion Post 127, as part of the second annual Lend-a-Paw community service day. The event will take place from 3:30-6:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Woodinville American Legion Post 127, 21920 State Route 9 S.E. in Woodinville, and is sponsored by the UW Bothell Alumni Council.
The Student Veterans Association will brief American Legion members on the status of the Student Archway project, a proposed monument to honor the service of student veterans and to celebrate their transition to academic and civilian life. Students are seeking to raise $60,000 to fund the project.
Approximately 50 students, alumni and staff are expected. Members of the UW Bothell Student Veterans Association will also attend.
UW Bothell is a veterans-friendly campus with more than 200 student veterans enrolled.
For its annual community service project, the UW Bothell alumni association chose a project to honor veterans both on and off campus.
