October 26, 2012 · 9:47 AM

The fifth annual StreamFest will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Kenmore Senior Center-Annex in Rhododendron Park. The event is organized by People for an Environmentally Responsible Kenmore, or PERK.

It is designed to celebrate streams along the north shore of Lake Washington and provide a forum to discuss current issues. The event includes kayaking tours of the area.

There will be a welcome, safety talk for kayakers and coffee at 9 a.m. Kayak tours depart to Log Boom Park, Lyon Creek and Swamp Creek, along with a presentation about Lake Washington toxins. Bring a lunch. Rhododendron Park is located at 6910 N.E. 170th in Kenmore.

Organizers ask that participants RSVP at 206-979-3999.
