Six Northshore seniors named National Merit Scholarship finalists

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has named six Northshore School District seniors as National Merit Finalists. Finalists represent less than one-half of 1 percent of the 1.5 million students who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test nation wide.
The NSD students are:Inglemoor's Rahul Bachal, son of Pratibha BachalInglemoor's Henry Sokol, son of Deborah Parkins-Sokol and James SokolInglemoor's Kathleen Zhou, daughter of Feng and Yan ZhouInglemoor's Cynthia Zhu, daughter of Lin Ming and Baohua Zhuu
The other two students, Christian Matthews, son of Sharon and Joseph Matthews, III and Karthik Romesh, son of Nalini and Dr. Anapathur Ramesh, attend Woodinville High School.
Finalists will be considered for more than 8,300 National Merit Scholarship Awards to be awarded this spring and often receive other offers because of their standing as National Merit Finalists.
