The University of Washington, Bothell will hold the seventh annual UW-Bothell Center for Student Entrepreneurship (CSE) final business-plan competition from 5:45-7:45 p.m. May 30 in the Northshore Utility Auditorium, 6830 N.E. 185th St., Kenmore.

At the competition, attendees will observe the top-three student teams pitch their business ideas to an independent panel of judges. The winning team will receive a $10,000 prize, in addition to professional guidance, to help them launch their business endeavors. The second-place team will receive $2,500 and free guidance services, as well.

The CSE assists student entrepreneurs by advising and mentoring them through an established advisory board and board of trustees and an extensive business network. The CSE offers entrepreneurial courses with a real-world focus, and also supports enVenture, a business network of alumni entrepreneurs, professionals and students. The CSE further directs the Student Entrepreneurship Fund to support student ventures.

The center helped conceive and found 37 Puget Sound companies, representing a variety of fields including (but not limited to) information technology, lending, dance, specialty foods, clothing and manufacturing.
