Bothell resident Amanda Bailey served as a page in the Washington State Senate in Olympia last week.

Bailey was sponsored by Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe (D-Bothell).

“Seeing pages like Amanda who are engaged and interested in politics shows that our future is in good hands,” McAuliffe said.

Bailey heard about the program from some friends who had been apart of the program.

“Two of my best friends also signed up to do it this week,” said Bailey. “It was fun to be pages together.”Bailey said that she was "really sad" to go home when the experience came to an end.

Bailey would like to do an internship at the Capitol in the future.

Bailey is a homeschooler and plans on becoming an economist. She is very devoted to her debate club and has an array of hobbies that include photography and knitting.
