Six Bothell residents pass Washington state Bar exam
The Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) announced that 727 candidates passed the bar exam administered in July 2013. Of the 857 candidates who took the exam, 84.8 percent passed.
Bothell had six students pass, including Laurah Christine Bernard, Timothy Jared Friend, Octavian Bogdan Jumanca, Amy Statham Mill, Ashley Jane Sherwood and Archita Abhay Taylor.
Administered over a two-day period, the bar exam is a substantive law exam that includes multiple choice, essay and performance questions. A separate exam on professional responsibility, and a separate educational component and exam addressing specific areas of Washington law, are also required to qualify for admission.
By comparison, 575 candidates passed the bar exam administered in July 2012. Of the 878 candidates who took the exam, 65.5 percent passed.
