Northshore Safeway stores to participate in diaper drive

Two Bothell and one Kenmore Safeway locations will join forces with nearly two dozen other stores and eight AmericanWest Bank branches throughout King County to help Eastside Baby Corner, through Side by Side Northwest, collect much-needed diapers to distribute to east King County kids in need.

The event will take place July 18-20.

Side by Side Northwest is a diaper bank collaborative between Eastside Baby Corner and WestSide Baby. Together the two organizations distribute more than two million diapers to King County kids each year – 600,000 going to kids on the Eastside. The drive is held in connection with WestSide Baby’s Annual Stuff the Bus diaper drive, which is expanding to the Eastside for the first time this year.

Supporters are encouraged to donate new or opened packages of diapers as well as new hygiene items, such as wipes and diaper cream at participating Safeway locations (see below). Items collected from all Eastside locations will be distributed through Eastside Baby Corner so they can remain in the local community.

The donation site in Kenmore is the Safeway located at 6850 N.E. Bothell Way.

Donation sites in Bothell include the Thrashers Corner Safeway at 20711 Bothell Everett Highway and the Bothell Safeway at 24040 Bothell Everett Highway.
