Kenmore turns 10 years old Aug. 30

The city of Kenmore will present its 10th anniversary celebration from 4-10 p.m. Aug. 30 at Log Boom Park, rain or shine. The free, all-ages event will celebrate the past, present and future of the city.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

• 4-8 p.m.:

Free activities and giveaways for kids and adults. Food will be available for purchase. Live entertainment, inflatable bouncer, balloon artist, face painter, community art project and chalk art contest.

• 8-10 p.m.:

Birthday cake and a special presentation from the city featuring Kenmore’s first mayor, Jack Crawford, and current mayor, David Baker. Video documentary of Kenmore, 10-minute fireworks display and outdoor movie screening.

Limited parking will be available at Log Boom Park, with free parking at Bethany Bible Church, Kenmore Professional Center and Kenmore Lake Building.

The celebration will be sponsored by Kenmore Partners LLC, Bastyr University, Ostrom’s Drug and Gift, Kenmore Camera, Grocery Outlet, Kenmore Self Storage, Plywood Supply, Les Schwab Tire Center, Snapdoodle Toys, Kenmore Business Information Network, Kenmore Air, Shin’s Tae Kwon Do Academy, Northshore Utility District, Kenmore Reporter, Michelman Insurance Group and Safeway.
