The Reporter mistakenly indicated in its Aug. 13 article "Bothell teenager dies in Kenmore car accident" that the city of Kenmore knew for over a year about a damaged fence that killed 16-year-old Nicole Lehtinen in an Aug. 2 accident.

This misinformation came from a draft version of the story, and was supposed to be omitted before publication. The Reporter has corrected this mistake for its online edition.

The faulty paragraph should have read:

"The city of Kenmore released a statement Aug. 6 acknowledging that it was aware a fallen tree had damaged the fence in July 2008."
