King graduated from Juanita High in 2006 and plans to graduate from WSU in 2010 with a degree in finance/economics. He is a member of the WSU finance club and participates in the Boeing Mentorship Program. King is the son of Carl King of Bothell.

• Western Washington University student Annie Brandon, daughter of Judy Brandon of Bothell, received a $1,000 President’s Scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Brandon, an incoming freshman, earned a 3.94 grade-point average at Juanita High, and is interested in majoring in Spanish.

While attending Juanita, Brandon was awarded scholar athlete in fall 2007, was named science-department student of the quarter and Rotary student of the month in October 2008.

She participated in volleyball, National Honor Society and volunteered as an outdoor education counselor at a local elementary school. She hopes to one day travel the world helping underprivileged children.
