Strings on fire — Castle to headline Homeward Pets fund-raiser

Electric six-string violinist Geoffrey Castle will headline a benefit for local nonprofit Homeward Pets Aug. 23 at the Kenmore Community Club, 7304 N.E. 175th St. Hammered dulcimer player Michael Warmuth will open the show. Doors open at 5 p.m., concert starts at 6 p.m.
Bothell High senior-to-be Julie Cleveland is organizing the fund-raiser as part of her senior project.
Woodinville's Homeward Pets is a no-kill shelter for homeless cats and dogs.
Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance or $20 day of show; seniors and children $12, children under 2 are free. Advance purchase is recommended as seats are limited and Castle frequently plays to sold-out crowds. Tickets can now be purchased at www.juliesfundraising.com or by calling (425) 485-9469.
In addition to this fund-raiser, Cleveland spends time volunteering at Homeward Pets when she’s not working at Harmony Massage or attending Running Start classes at Cascadia Community College. She plans to attend the University of Washington communications program in the fall following graduation.
