Cascadia Community College student Janet Darling, was recently awarded the National Excellence in Leadership Award by Sigma Alpha Pi, the National Society of Leadership and Success.

“Janet possesses a strong work ethic, persistence, and a can-do attitude,” said Ana Blackstad, staff advisor for Cascadia’s chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Part of Darling’s recognition resulted from a community service project where she helped produce a concert in honor of Black History Month. Darling coordinated logistics with the venue and performers and managed production the night of the concert.
