Western Washington University student Danielle Reed of Bothell received a $1,000 President's Scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year.

President's Scholarships are awarded to approximately the top eight to 10 percent of incoming freshmen and transfer students, and are based on superior academic achievement.

Reed, an incoming freshman, earned a 3.93 grade-point average at Bothell High and is interested in majoring in anthropology. Reed was a Bothell High theater-department participant for two years and volunteered her time at Eastlake Community Church.
