The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 7 recently presented Cascadia Community College with a bronze Medallion award for its new Web site. Awards were given at the District 7 conference in Vancouver last month.
“The Web-site project was a truly collaborative effort and everyone involved should be proud of this award,” says Cascadia President Bill Christopher. “The new Web site gives us a great resource to promote the student-centered programs and services we offer at Cascadia.”
Graphic designer Susan Ford and assistant director of communications and marketing Dan Rinder led the Web-site project that included a redesigned look, improved navigation and better searchability. Staff from all areas of the college were involved in editing old Web-site content to make it more user-friendly. The new site launched in July 2009.
The NCMPR District 7 Medallion awards recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges in Alaska, Alberta, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Saskatchewan, Washington and Yukon Territory. It is the only regional competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and public-relations professionals at two-year colleges.
