UW-Bothell's Burgett named vice chair of National Advisory Board of Imagining America

The University of Washington, Bothell’s Dr. Bruce Burgett has been named vice chair of the National Advisory Board of Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life.
Housed at Syracuse University, Imagining America is a national consortium of colleges and universities that supports and advocates for public scholarship and practice. Its mission is to strengthen the public role and democratic purposes of the humanities, arts and design.
Burgett is currently the director of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at UW-Bothell, where he teaches in the graduate and undergraduate programs. He became involved in Imagining America in 2003.
Says Burgett, “My involvement with Imagining America and the campus’s membership in the consortium have helped to build UW-Bothell’s community-based learning and scholarship initiatives, while also strengthening our undergraduate and graduate degrees in the cultural disciplines at UW-Bothell and UW-Seattle.”
Burgett is also the co-chair of the 9th Annual Conference of Imagining America which will be held Sept. 23-25 in Seattle.
