A pointed question for Tim Ottersburg | Letter

Responsible growth: Tim Ottersburg says to ensure responsible growth, and as quoted on his website, to “secure land for green spaces and parks while we still can.”

Responsible growth: Tim Ottersburg says to ensure responsible growth, and as quoted on his website, to “secure land for green spaces and parks while we still can.” Tim has further tried to portray his opponent, James McNeal as representing the interest of pro-growth builders, despite his active involvement in the founding of OneBothell, the non-profit group dedicated to preserving open spaces. At the same time, Tim is endorsed by two of the City Council members who voted in an emergency council session to appeal a state ruling that provides safeguards for open spaces, and protections from environmental damage, and failed to gain the endorsement of those City Council members who dissented on seeking an appeal on this ruling.

Given these facts, Tim Ottersburg claimed support for open spaces seems to be contradicted by the endorsements his candidacy has and hasn’t received. Is he being disingenuous in projecting his position on open spaces, and misrepresenting the position of his opponent?
