Difference of opinions | Letter

Regarding the Reporter story, “Church brings abortion suit to state on Women’s Day” (March 15).

In their lawsuit against the state that mandates all health insurance coverage for maternity care include coverage for abortion care, members of the Alliance Defending Freedom says, “Washington’s attack on people of faith is intentional.”

That’s one opinion by some people of faith, but certainly not by all.

As a clergy person, I see it differently. My denomination and I see abortion as a difficult choice. However, we respect every woman’s right to choose. And we see same-gender marriage as a great decision for those in committed relationships. I’ve officiated at a number of such events.
