To commemorate a year of being open in Bothell, McMenamins Anderson School will celebrate its “first birthday” with a five-course brewers dinner with beer pairings, the release of the Class of 2016 Wheatwine Anderson School birthday beer and live music on Oct. 14.

The menu highlights of the first birthday dinner, which starts at 7 p.m., include citrus-cured smoked scallop ceviche, grilled quail and smoked barley and apple salad and smoked dry-aged ribeye. The meal is $105 per person, 21 and over only, and includes McMenamins beer pairings.

The celebration of the Wheatwine beer release, with a performance from Puget Sound band The Rusty Neils, is free and open to all ages. The event will run from 7 to 10 p.m. The beer is an American ale, made with more than 50 percent wheat with a tropical-hopped nose and flavors of toffee and vanilla.
