Fire breaks out at Kenmore's Mia Roma restaurant

Just after midnight on Oct. 21, the Northshore Fire Department responded to a report of a fire and explosion at Mia Roma, a restaurant located in the 7600 block of N.E. Bothell Way.

According to a press release, firefighters arrived at the location at 12:06 a.m. and observed flames climbing up the wall to the roof at the back of the building. Officials said the fire was rapidly extinguished and confined to the building’s exterior.

The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. There were no injuries reported. Damage to the structure is estimated at $20,000.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the King County Fire Investigations Unit.
