At 9:20 a.m. today, fire crews from Bothell, the Northshore, Shoreline and Woodinville fire departments all responded to a single-family house fire at 9302 Valhalla Way in Bothell.

According to a press release from the Bothell fire department, upon arrival rescue workers found smoke and flames coming from the second story of the structure. Firefighters reported the flames as quickly extinguished.

The home's occupant was alerted to the fire by a smoke detector and left the home. There were three pets inside the structure at the time of the fire. Firefighters rescued one dog, while the two others made it to safety on their own.

A Bothell fire department spokesperson said the cause of the fire still is under investigation.
