Bothell motorcycle rider killed in traffic accident

A 26 year-old motorcyclist from Bothell was killed on Wednesday when a van turned in front of him. The man died at the scene, according to Sgt. John Urquhart of the King County Sheriff's Office.

The incident occurred about 3:10 p.m. in the 17000 block of the Woodinville-Redmond Road in unincorporated King County.

A 2005 Chevrolet Express van was southbound on the Woodinville-Redmond Road when it made a left turn into a private driveway on the east side of the road. The motorcycle, a 2006 Suzuki 750 was northbound and had just passed another vehicle. The motorcycle hit the right rear corner of the van.

The driver of the van was a 56-year-old Woodinville man. He was not injured.

The accident is still under investigation and there have been no arrests or citations.
