February 14, 2012 · 11:25 AM
Last Saturday, the Northshore Wranglers “took the plunge” into Lake Union for Special Olympics WA and raised more than $10,000 to earn top fund-raising honors for 2012.
Braving 41-degree water, more than 50 Wranglers attended the annual Polar Plunge event and 30 participated as part of the Team Wranglers community giving campaign. For 2012, Wranglers parent Betsy Sanders was one of 10 “super plungers,” diving in 23 times.
Team Wranglers promotes advocacy and awareness for people with special needs while raising money for other nonprofits that serve them in the community. Team Wranglers events, and Northshore Wranglers programs and activities, are offered year round.
Based in Bothell at the Northshore Health & Wellness Center, the Wranglers Program serves the cities of Bothell, Woodinville and Kenmore, as well as surrounding communities. For more information on the Northshore Wranglers visit www.northshorewranglers.org.
