Evergreen Academy students to plant 'Pinwheels for Peace'

September 17, 2012 · 3:57 PM

Elementary students at Evergreen Academy will celebrate the United Nations' International Day of Peace by joining the Pinwheels for Peace Project on Friday, Sept. 21 at 10:30 a.m.

The ceremony will be held in the school garden and will include speeches by Principal Dana Mott and select students.

Each child's pinwheel will be designed with his or her own interpretations of peace, tolerance and harmony. As a culmination to the ceremony, students will plant their pinwheels in the ground and take a moment of silence to commemorate the day and its meaning.

Evergreen Academy is located at 16017 118th Place Northeast.
