How did 1st District representatives for Bothell vote?
The following is a recap of how Bothell legislators from the 1st District recently voted on several bills and resolutions (according to washingtonvotes.org) during the 2013 session.
House Bill 2064, Substitute House Bill 2064: Restoring the Washington estate and transfer tax to certain property transfers. Passed the House on May 30, 2013 by a vote of 51-40.
This bill amends the definition of "transfer" for estate tax purposes to specifically include property where the deceased person economically benefited in the property, i.e., property in a QTIP (qualified terminable interest property) marital trust. A change is also made to the definition of "Washington taxable estate" to specifically include an interest in QTIP, regardless of whether the deceased person acquired the interest in the property prior to May 17, 2005. The changes in the bill apply retroactively to persons who died on or after May 17, 2005. The bill contains an emergency clause and becomes effective immediately.
Yes: Rep. Luis Moscoso and Rep. Derek Stanford.
