Shelton View's chess club wins big at chess tournament

Shelton View Elementary Chess Club took second place at the Medina All Cities Chess Tournament on Jan. 25.

Northshore students had a clean sweep winning first place in all three sections, beating out kids from Bellevue, Seattle, Redmond and Kirkland.  Suja Chalasani, Shelton View, won 1st place in the fourth-sixth grade section, while Megan van Meurs, Shelton View, took ninth over all. Anirudh Rajesh took first place in the first-third grade section and Venkatram Chandra, Canyon Creek Elementary, won first in the Kindergarten section.

Additional Northshore place winners include: Evan Adami, Shelton View, Deepthi Chandra, Shelton View, Haley van Meurs, Lockwood, Amogh Babu, Shelton View, Arush Sashidharan, Shelton View, Pavan Anoop, Shelton View, Jacob Christenson, Shelton View, Michelle Li, Shelton View.
