The city of Kenmore will host its next city-wide volunteer opportunity to help beautify local Kenmore parks at 9 a.m. on March 29.

The event is part of Parks Appreciation Day and will last until noon. Volunteers will help with the removal of woody debris, cleaning of signage, litter pick-up, weeding and dead plant removal at Rhododendron Park, 6910 NE 170th St., and Log Boom Park, 61st Ave. NE and NE 175th St.

The event will happen rain or shine, so dress for the weather. The city encourages volunteers to bring gloves and basic gardening tools, as limited quantities are available. Volunteers 14–17 years old must have city volunteer agreement form signed by their parent or guardian prior to volunteering. Younger children are permitted to volunteer if directly supervised by their parent. Water and snacks will be provided.

Interested volunteers can RSVP to Volunteer and Events Coordinator Cindy Shelton at cshelton@kenmorewa.gov or 425-398-8900.
