Seattle police officer, Bothell resident arrested for child molestation

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 57 year-old male Seattle police officer and booked him into jail today for first degree child molestation and communication with a minor for immoral purposes.

The suspect, a Bothell resident, has been with Seattle Police for more than 20 years. The arrest follows an investigation launched on June 18 by Sheriff’s Office detectives after allegations were made that the officer had molested his former girlfriend’s daughter on several occasions between 2009 and 2013.

The victim was between the ages of 7 and 11 at the time of the alleged crimes.

Detectives are continuing with the investigation.
