The North Bothell All-Star’s 12U Little League baseball team won District 8 for the third time, a first for the North Bothell Little League.

The 12U team consist of boys who are 12 and 13 years old.

The team began play in the state tournament against the other 13 district winners this week. Little League All-Stars starts with about 150 teams from 14 different districts throughout the state.

“They have worked hard,” said Jon Kollman, coach. “They hope to follow in the footsteps of older brothers on the 2011 NBLL All-Star team who won a state championship and played in a semifinal game on ESPN.”

Players include Kainoa China, Christian Galvan, Nick Giesinger, Ryne Hays, Julian Jackson, Leon Johnson III, Jeremy Kollman, Drew Kostelecky, Timmy Lee, Dylan Leininger, Keelan Sawyer, Jake Tuckner and John Tveit.

“They are creating memories they will have for a lifetime; this is not just a team but a family,” Kollman said. “They are best friends and brothers. One of them was hurt pretty badly in a game about a month ago and it was very emotional for all of them. It really showed just how close they are.”
