The Snohomish County Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) responded to a single-family fire at 7 a.m. today on 170th Street Southeast in Bothell. A family of six was displaced, including two teenagers and two youngsters.

The Red Cross provided housing for three nights, food, clothing and shoes. Six comfort kits will give each family member the basic necessities such as toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo and soap. A Red Cross Health Services nurse will follow up with the family to assist in replacing medications.

Red Cross assistance is provided free of charge due to the donations and support from citizens in the community.
