Bothell run/walk to honor 1st Lt. Madrazo set for Sept. 9

On Sept. 9, 2008, Bothell's 1st Lt. Nicholas Aaron Madrazo was killed by a roadside bomb along with Capt. Jessie Melton, medic Eichmann Strickland and an Afghan interpreter in Kapisa Province, Afghanistan. To honor the life of the local United States Marine Corps member and other men and women of the United States military, the N.A.M.E.S. (Nicholas Aaron Madrazo Endearing Service) Foundation was formed.

This Sept. 9, the 2nd Annual N.A.M.E.S Foundation 5K/10K Run or Walk will take place at 7:15 a.m. at Pop Keeney Stadium, 9809 N.E. 188th St. in Bothell.

Cost is $30/5K and $40/10K for participants 10 years and older, including a T-shirt, now through Sept. 8. There is free registration for children under 10 years old.
