The city of Bothell is still looking for residents who want to be on the “con” committee for the Safe Streets and Sidewalks measure. No applications have been received and city officials have extended the deadline to noon on Tuesday, July 26.

The “con” committee will write the opposition’s statement for the King County Voters’ Guide on the ballot measure, which if passed, would fund street maintenance and safety improvements for neighborhood streets and arterials. Those maintenance items include resurfacing, school walk routes, sidewalks and crosswalks. The city’s regular property tax levy shall be increased for a period of nine years by 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed value for collection beginning in 2017.
