Construction starts on 62nd Avenue corridor improvements

Construction has started on the corridor improvement project along 62nd Avenue Northeast in Kenmore.

This project will enhance mobility and safety by installing a sidewalk and planting strip on the east side of 62nd Avenue Northeast between State Route 522 and Northeast 185th Street.

Three traffic circles will be installed along 62nd Avenue Northeast at the intersections with Northeast 182nd, Northeast 184th and Northeast 185th streets.

Sharrows (striping identifying shared use lanes between bicycles and vehicles) will be added to the roadway for an improved bicycle facility.

The total project cost is estimated to be $828,000. The City of Kenmore received a $813,200 highway safety improvement grant for the project.

Construction hours are anticipated to be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with construction expected to be complete this fall. For more information, visit www.kenmorewa.gov/62ndAveNEProject.
