DelBene leads in 1st Congressional District in early returns

As of election night, incumbent Suzan DelBene was leading with 69 percent of the vote, to Jeffrey Beeler’s 31 percent.

Preliminary results for the Nov. 6 general election came in around 8:06 p.m. Tuesday night.

Incumbent Rep. Suzan DelBene (D-Medina) ran against Jeffrey Beeler, a Republican and Sultan City councilmember, to retain her seat in Washington’s 1st Congressional District. As of election night, DelBene was leading with 69 percent of the vote, to Beeler’s 31 percent, according to the secretary of state’s website.

As of Nov. 5, 82,873 people had turned in their ballots in the 1st Congressional District, out of 178,246 registered voters for the district in King County. The 1st District includes most of Whatcom, Skagit and Snohomish counties and the northeast third of King.

Washington votes by mail and ballots can be postmarked as late as Election Day, meaning results could change in the following days. Check back this week for updated results.
