Inglemoor student earns 2016 Cascade Symphony Scholarship

Clara Hope Simpson, from Inglemoor High School, is a 2016 Cascade Symphony Scholarship winner. She was presented the scholarship in the amount of $2,000 by Cascade Symphony's Music Director Michael Miropolsky at the May 9 concert at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Next fall, she will attend the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, majoring in cello performance.

Cascade Symphony Orchestra awards scholarships of $2,000 to $3,000 to qualified high school seniors from the Edmonds, Mukilteo, Northshore and Shoreline School Districts. Applicants must audition on an orchestral instrument (string, woodwind, brass or percussion) and must plan to continue their musical studies in college but need not intend to major in music.
