Kenmore residents can meet local police officers and neighbors at the annual National Night Out Against Crime on Aug. 2 from 6–8:30 p.m. at Kenmore City Hall.

The Kenmore Police Department invites residents to join them for a free barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers, learn tips on home and personal safety, and enjoy other activities.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals, letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
