Kenmore to install new curbing along street centerlines

The City of Kenmore will install curbing along street centerlines on 68th and 73rd avenues between Bothell Way (State Route 522) and NE 181st Street to enhance safety and improve traffic flow of the major corridors.

The curbing will prevent left turns into and out of the driveways facing these roadways. Drivers may need to use alternate routes, including driveways on SR 522, to access properties in the vicinity of these modifications.

Similar curbing was installed between SR 522 and NE 181st Street on 61st Avenue NE as part of the recent SR 522 construction.

Curbing on the centerline of 68th and 73rd avenues is expected to be installed the week of Feb. 13. Installation is estimated to take one day, weather depending. There will be lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to facilitate the installation, but both roads will remain open to at least one lane of traffic each way.
