Kenmore’s Christmas festival expands to include holiday market

The annual City of Kenmore Christmas Tree Lighting Festival is expanding this year to include a holiday market. The market will feature fine handmade arts and crafts, including woodwork, jewelry, glasswork, ceramics and decorations, made by local artists.

It will be housed at Kenmore City Hall from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 along with other parts of the festival, including live entertainment, arts and crafts, Santa’s arrival and the tree lighting (scheduled for 5 p.m.).

Kenmore Camera is the second venue for the festival, and will include Santa’s Toy Zone, free Santa photos and live entertainment from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The performers at both venues include Hopa Trop (a children’s folk dance ensemble), Washington School of Dance, Cedar Park Northshore Church Choir, Moorlands Elementary School Choir, Church on a Hill musical groups, Student Music Initiative and juggling elves.

Event parking will be available at Kenmore Village, Chase Bank and Cooley Smiles.

Attendees are encouraged to donate nonperishable food and stuffed animals for Kenmore families in need. Food donations for the Cedar Park Northshore Church Food Bank will be accepted during business hours at Kenmore City Hall through Dec. 9. Highly requested items include canned fruits, vegetables and meats; boxed meals and potatoes; pasta; cereal; and juice.
