The NAMES Foundation will be hosting a charitable 5K or 10K walk/run at Pop Keeney Stadium starting at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 6.

Created in memory of Nicholas Aaron Madrazo, a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps who was killed in action on Sept. 9, 2008, while deployed in Afghanistan, the NAMES Foundation’s goal is to support military members and their families in Madrazo’s memory.

The proceeds of the event will go to support the causes of the NAMES Foundation, including a $2,500 scholarship for full-time student veterans and travel reimbursement for service members who need training for PTSD-connected service dogs.

Interested parties can register for the walk/run 5K or 10K either online, or in person at 8 a.m. on the day of the race.
