A sign appeared in downtown Bothell this week with words that stood against the improvement projects by the city of Bothell.

The sign reads, “more homes more traffic more problems.” The Reporter could not find the source behind the sign, but a few residents who agreed with the sign’s message spoke up in an email and Facebook post.

“I want you to know that I agree with the sign,” said Alan Boss, resident. “I have, more than once, wanted to deface local construction signs that say ‘Northshore Schools’ with the word ‘overcrowded,’ but have not done so. This sign tells the truth, and if the perpetrator/s is found, they should be congratulated. This is a beautiful expression of free speech.”

Another resident said he agreed with the signs message because he had been afraid the new projects would make Bothell overpopulated.

“Great sign. Wish it was mine. Why don’t some of these developers pay for another I-405 on-ramp and some sidewalks. Or get out. Thirty minutes from the top of nike hill to the I-405 on-ramp is insane bit is a daily occurrence,” wrote Will Knudsvig. “I don’t mind the high density housing but there is no supporting infrastructure. Oh, and when is Northshore going to start enforcing its boarders? I live on the Bothell/Lynnwood boarder and every day there is a line of parents dropping off.”
