Southbound I-405 reduced to one lane near Bothell and Kirkland overnight

Nighttime drivers on southbound Interstate 405 near Bothell and north Kirkland should plan ahead for possible delays overnight tonight and Tuesday.

The following is a release from the Washington State Department of Transportation:

Nighttime drivers on southbound Interstate 405 near Bothell and north Kirkland should plan ahead for possible delays overnight tonight and Tuesday. Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will reduce the roadway to a single lane and close some nearby ramps to complete a traffic shift as part of the I-405 Bellevue to Lynnwood Widening and Express Toll Lanes project.

Tonight through the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 6

  • Up to three lanes of southbound I-405 between State Route 522 and Northeast 124th Street will close starting at 7 p.m. nightly. Two lanes will close at 8 p.m., and three lanes will close at 10:30 p.m. All lanes will open by 5 a.m. each day.
  • The southbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 160th Street will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.

Tonight through the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 5

  • The eastbound and westbound SR 522 ramps to southbound I-405 will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Signed detours will direct traffic to alternate routes. This work is weather dependent and subject to change.
