Two Bothell residents awarded BECU scholarships

The BECU Foundation awarded two Bothell residents, Leah Shin and Abigail Snyder, $3,000 scholarships.

The BECU Foundation awarded two Bothell residents, Leah Shin and Abigail Snyder, $3,000 scholarships.

Shin, a University of Washington student, created Literacy for Love which is a nonprofit that collects and donates books to students in need.

Snyder is a Cedar Park Christian School student who participated in the robotics club to prepare for her future job.

The students are among 80 who received the scholarship. They were chosen based on their academic performance and passion for helping others.

Since 1995, the BECU Foundation has awarded more than $2.2 million in scholarships to 950 student members.
