On this rainy Thursday morning commute, drivers have a lot to face on the roads.

In Kenmore, SR-522 has water over the roadway at the intersection of 61st Ave. Northeast. The water level was high enough to hit some vehicle’s axles.

There is no word yet from Kenmore Public Works as of when that may be cleared up, but they are sending crews out to the scene to look.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), showers are expected throughout the day with an approximate tenth to a quarter of an inch possible. However, there seems to be a bit more rain out there than just that, today.

Bothell Public Works Department was ready for the storm, having prepared for it prior to the squall.

“Bothell City street crews are working seven days a week to keep leaves off the roads and out of storm drains,” city of Bothell spokesperson Catherine Jansen. “The city would like to remind citizens to collect leaves into bags for collection or for mulching, instead of blowing them into the streets. This helps keep roads cleared during heavy storms, such as today.”

In all, seven external calls for service came in including five for flooding, one downed tree and one manhole cover out of place.
