Resident is worried about The Paradise Espresso stand | Letter

There are several reasons to worry about The Paradise Espresso stand located just south of Country Village.
Here are four:
• Although the serving window does not face the road, a 6-foot-by-4-foot window does, and anyone driving by can see every inch of the inside!
• The location is anything but innocuous. It is right next to a family-oriented shopping village and has a high volume of traffic.
• If the owner is truthful in stating his employees are not allowed to sport lingerie or bikinis, he has some firing to do. Just this morning (Jan. 12), I drove by and noted the barista was wearing a bikini bottom and top. There have been other instances.
• Concern over the message we are sending our daughters. The message sent in this case is: In order to sell a cup of coffee, you need to show off your body. When will women ever be recognized for the content of their character and not the size of their bust?
I've lived in Bothell eight years and love its unique mix of small-town and city feel. That said, we are not downtown Seattle nor some out-in-the-boonies redneck town. In my opinion, these are the only two areas where such a business should be established. In the very least, this stand should be required to have curtains or shades so that those of us who prefer modesty for our young women don't have to be subject to an accidental sighting of belly, cleavage and legs!
