Kudos to law enforcement | Letter

July 18, 2012 · 11:49 AM

On July 17 at around 4-5 p.m., a man allegedly tried to run over a police officer during a traffic stop. He then fled and ditched a vehicle about a block from my house in Bothell just south of the Mill Creek Highlands neighborhood.

There was a SnoCo Sheriff helicopter circling the neighborhood and above my house, and above the wood trails across the street/cul-de-sac from my house. The Bothell PD and the SnoCo Sheriffs searched our neighborhood, our back yards and those woods and found the suspect. During this time, our daughter (and myself) were excited and concerned.

[Editor’s note: This information was confirmed by a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.]

This letter is to offer our sincere “thank you” to the Bothell PD and the SnoCo Sheriff’s Department for their swift action and diligent search efforts, which ultimately led to our family and neighbors feeling secure so that we can sleep at night. Thank you officers/deputies for your service every day and for your professionalism in dealing with us that evening.

You are not given enough appreciation or gratitude in your line of work, and you deserve this recognition.
