Who is paying for McCravey | Letter

I started wondering who was paying for all the commercials and postcards that Dawn McCravey is sending out, so I checked the Washington Public Disclosure Commission web page and found that Stacy Shusterman, the CEO of the Samson Energy Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma, just put $25,000 into funding the Stand for Children postcards attacking Rosemary McAuliffe. What is an out-of-state company that drills for oil and natural gas doing putting that kind of money into a local campaign?

Looking further in the PDC documents, I found that McCravey has donations from the Tesoro Alaska Oil Company and the Washington Oil Marketers Association. Lee McCravey is listed as a gas marketer for Cabot Oil and Gas, a national company, which paid a confidential settlement to residents of Dimock, Pennsylvania, who claimed their drinking water was contaminated after fracking operations.

Dawn McCravey talks a lot about her intention to create jobs in our state by relaxing regulations. It looks like these companies are hoping that she will do just that. Before any of us casts a vote for Dawn McCravey, she needs to tell us where she stands on protecting our environment. The Washington Chapter of the Sierra Club and Washington Conservation Voters both endorse Rosemary McAuliffe for her faithful record of voting to protect our environment.
